UFC 290

Feel the energy of UFC 290 with us when we present the UFC Featherweight Championship unification bout between current champion Alexander Volkanovski (25-2-0) and interim champion Yair Rodríguez (16-3-0). But that’s not all, this PPV event also features Brandon Moreno (21-6-2) defending his flyweight belt in a rematch against Alexandre Pantoja (25-5-0) in the co-headliner.

Volkanovski is currently the #2 ranked MMA pound-for-pound male fighter in the sport and he’s looking for his fifth consecutive title defense after falling short against Islam Makhachev in his bid for two-division glory this past February. It won’t be an easy task considering  he’ll have to get past Yair Rodríguez who captured the interim title with a second-round submission of on of the greats, Josh Emmett.

But before Volkanovski and Rodríguez enter the octagon, Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja square off in their third meeting. Their first bout came in a 2016 exhibition on TUF 24, which Pantoja won via second-round rear-naked choke and again Pantoja was the victor in the rematch with a unanimous decision of a 2018 UFC bout.

The main card lineup also includes a No. 1 contender’s match between former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker and rising contender Dricus Du Plessis, a lightweight bout between Jalin Turner and Dan Hooker, and a middleweight battle featuring Bo Nickael taking on Tresean Gore.
